The clock  turned back in Bagni di Lucca yesterday 15th September 2012 as the US Army came to town. Everyone joined in the day and the star spangled banner hung proud from the buildings and bridges next to the Italian flag.

 This week we arranged a trip to a Tuscan vineyard for our guests which included winetasting tour followed by a fantastic barbecue on the verandah in the middle of the vineyard overlooking the rows and rows of vines and the Tuscan countryside. After their visit the friendly taxi driver took them to a local town … Friends of tuscanrooms enjoy a day out at the vineyard with winetasting tour and barbecue lunch.

Sunday (17th) was the Palio Della Balestra in Bagni di Lucca.

We went for a drive out yesterday up into the Apuane Alps about 45 mins away from tuscanrooms and found Lago di Vagli. In the foothills of the Apuane Alps and close to the Cave Di Marmo ( Marble Caves) this beautiful lakeside village was well worth the trip.

One of our favourite places to go when there is blue skies and sunshine is the Strada del Vino which is only 20 mins away from tuscanrooms and has stunning views across Lucca and the hills beyond. The 20th March was officially the first day of Spring but the blossoms and the daffodils have been out in Bagni di Lucca for a couple of weeks now.

  Spring is a great time to visit Bagni di Lucca the colours are fabulous and with blue skies and the sunshine who could want for more. Its a time to get into the hills above Bagni di Lucca and enjoy the stunning views of the valley below or the mountains in the distance still … Spring is just around the corner
