Where does the time go here in Tuscany. Looking through the pics of 2015 each one seems only like yesterday.

We still have clients arriving right through until October this year but we just wanted to take a few moments to say thank you to all friends of tuscanrooms past and present for choosing tuscanrooms as your Tuscan Holiday base. We have made many new friends and renewed some old friendships this year and had a great time in the process.

After the bike race last Wednesday on Saturday it was the turn of the cars in the Mille Miglia which passed through Bagni di Lucca on its way to Parma.

All entrants had to be vintage or classic cars pre 1957 which had attended the original race format.

Yesterday (13.05.2015) was stage 5 of this years Giro D’Italia. The stage started in La Spezia and finished 152 km later in Abetone travelling right through the centre of Bagni di Lucca. The crowds turned out in the fabulous sunshine and the bars, shops and houses put out their flags and pink balloons ( pink being the colour of the Italian sports paper that sponsors the event and the colour of the stage winners jersey)

Race favourite Alberto Contador moved into the overall lead after stage five of the Giro d’Italia, which was won by Slovenia’s Jan Polanc.
Spaniard Contador, who won the 2008 Giro, finished fourth on the first mountain finish of this year’s race.
The Tinkoff-Saxo rider leads the race by two seconds from Italian hope Fabio Aru, with Team Sky’s Australian Richie Porte in third, 20 seconds adrift. There is still a long way to go yet though.
