What better place to watch an open air operatic  performance of Hamlet than Villa Oliva on the Strada del Vino.

The Strada del Vino is in the hills around Lucca only 20 mins drive from tuscanrooms.

This year is the 100th year of the Motogiro D’Italia the first taking place in 1914

180 participants from all over the world this week take part in a 6 stage time trial through northern Italy covering 1600km.

Starting at the Misano World circuit 5 days and 18 hours ago ( and counting) the Motogiro arrived in Bagni di Lucca this afternoon.

A big welcome to Trish and Erin new friends of tuscanrooms on a flying visit.

Today the weather was too good to miss in Bagni di Lucca and surrounding area so it was a tuscanrooms day out.

International Womens Day 8th March and Bagni di Lucca celebrated this with an exhibition of arts and crafts in the Casino in Ponte a Serraglio.

The evening was well attended and many locals exhibited their work including sculptures, paintings, photography, ceramics and needlework.
